In the novel Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, the story takes place during World War II. A plane of schoolboys from Britain got shot down over an island.They find out that there are no adults that survived.The boys wanted to choose a leader and choose Ralph to be their leader over a choir leader named Jack.This makes Jack angry and Ralph tells him he can be the hunter. Jack’s desire for power and leadership over the group create the following themes; leadership by fear and leadership by becoming obsessed with providing food.
