In the novel Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, the story takes place during World War II. A plane of schoolboys from Britain got shot down over an island.They find out that there are no adults that survived.The boys wanted to choose a leader and choose Ralph to be their leader over a choir leader named Jack.This makes Jack angry and Ralph tells him he can be the hunter. Jack’s desire for power and leadership over the group create the following themes; leadership by fear and leadership by becoming obsessed with providing food. Jack thought that he was doing the mot in the group by being the hunter of the group that he leaves and starts his own tribe. Jack’s urge for leadership and intimation gets the best of him.
