From the first time I zipped up my FFA jacket, I felt that I could become a part of something greater, I felt like I belonged. Over the last two years, it has become more than just a piece of clothing. With each zip and stitch it tells the story of my growing love for agriculture and the journey that I am on. Over the past two years, I’ve grown to learn that it’s not just a jacket, it’s a reminder of where I’ve been and where I want to go. When I was a freshman, I found the idea of “New school, New opportunities” scary. I felt out of place, but being a part of FFA has not only changed my future goals, but it has shown me many new opportunities and pathways for success. One way my goals have been impacted is through community service experiences. My FFA chapter has put on many community outreach events such as Meals of Hope, which is where we package macaroni for the less fortunate. Events like Meals of Hope and Farm to City have provided me with opportunities to lead by example and inspire others to join our efforts. These events, and many others, have helped me to be a leader, communicate effectively, learn to delegate tasks, and motivate members towards a common goal. These experiences have ignited a passion within me to further pursue leadership roles in the agriculture industry, where I can use my skills to advocate for positive change and create pathways for success. Every time I fasten the zipper on my FFA jacket, it symbolizes not only my commitment to personal growth but also my dedication to becoming an impactful leader within the agriculture community.
