Fear holds the greatest impact on decisions whether you’re in the highest class or lowest class fear still pressures those to make decisions that they normally wouldn’t make. In William Shakespeare’s play The Tragedy of Macbeth many people look on his ambitions an act of gaining power. However, his ambitions are generally based on fear of his wife lady Macbeth. Fear influences people’s decisions the most in the choices they make.
Macbeth's fear of lady Macbeth pushes him into making a decision that he normally wouldn’t make on his own without any influence of another in this case his wife. She criticizes him comparing him to a cat wouldn’t catch a fish because it feared wet feet. “Art thou afraid to be in thine own cat and valor as thou art in desire? Wouldst thou have that which two esteems’ the ornament of life and live a conary in thine own esteem, letting “I dare not” wait upon “I would”, Like the poor cat I” the” adage? (I.ii.39-45). Macbeth's fear gets to him and causes him to act on his ambitions. “I have done the deed. Didst thou not hear a noise?” (II.ii.15). Macbeth's fear sparked his ambitions which led to murdering King Duncan while he was asleep.

That is an understandable reason that power influences Macbeth's actions the most, however, fear holds the most power to his ambitions because fear pushes him to not only murder King Duncan but also have Banquo murder fear is shown more than once.
