How Frankenstein changed the Filming Industry
Since there are many modern day films based on the book Frankenstein written by Mary Shelley society has a different outlook on what the book is really about. In this essay there will be a comparison between the films, and the book itself. The world seems to be obsess with idea of crime and murder. Frankenstein tends to fall in that category. The novel brings about a visual representation of a corrupt character. Shelly wanted to portrayed the monster as an ugly creature that was assumed to be a murderer due to the appearance of the creature. So therefore he was excluded by society. A huge number of movies were created about mad scientists and their human creations. And who adapted aspects of Victor Frankenstein 's story without making direct reference to Frankenstein. The mad scientist theme can be reduced to one simple equation, Scientist creates monster then monster goes crazy therefore justice is done to the scientist by his own creation". One film is Star Trek In the episode Data 's creator, Professor Noonian Soong, is destroyed by his own creation. But it is not the Data who kills Soong but Data 's evil twin "brother" Lore. He kills Soong after stealing an emotion chip who was really designed for Data. In comparison to the novel the hatred attitude causes the death of its creator. In order for the authors of Star Trek to get his point across he had to split up the Monster into two people (Data and Lore), for example like the Biblical brothers Cain and Abel.(Web log post.
