There are many philosophies that relate to the existence of God. It started as a way to find out the way of life and even the purpose of it. Now, as philosophers strive to find out the purpose of life, they also expanded to finding out the purpose of the universe. Because with the purpose of the universe and understanding how it works, it might be possible to find out the purpose of life inside of it. Philosophers observe and theorize how the universe work, and some of them belief that there is something greater than the universe that set up how it works. The one who is above all, God.
Natural Theology Natural theologist uses inductive reasoning to theorize the existence of God. They observed the nature of the universe and hypothesized what God could be. The purpose of natural theology is to find out whether the teaching of a religion about the universe can be translated or explained in science.

Because there are no restriction or principles that citizens were expected to live, they have more freedom about the discussion of the meaning of life. This is what most philosopher at the time were focused on (“Greco-Roman Religion and Philosophy”). Although they ordinarily refer to religion to explain life, the philosophical approach helped develop logic and objectivity of the matter.
There exist a school of thinkers called the Milesian school that conceptualized that all matter are composed of a core element called archee (“Greco-Roman Religion and Philosophy”).
