How far has Australian golf developed since 1945?

Golf is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. It is a sport that is loved by people all over the world and can be enjoyed anywhere in the world. It never used to be as popular as it is now, but some golfers have made it a very well beloved sport. The development of golf since 1945 to 2016 has been a massive change over the years and has had a massive impacted on Australia, but has also been a significant advancement in golfing history.

The biggest change after that was “gutty” made in 1850, it was a solid molded rubber called gutta-percha (which is where it got its name from). At the same time they released a whole bunch of irons that gave the golfer much better control over the ball. The early “gutty” balls were smooth, after some people were done playing around of golf they found that the “gutty” ball flew further when it had cuts and marks in it from the other games. After that it didn’t take long for manufacturers to apply patented surface shaping to the balls. The next ball design the come was called the “Haskell" ball, which was a composite of a solid core wound with thin strips of rubber. Some balls nower days are made the same way but they are very expensive. the “Haskell” performed better than the “gutty” and was way cheaper to make. Initially these surface moldings took the form of grooves (which we have on the golf ball today) and later bumps. The "bump" design was known as the bramble pattern, due to a resemblance of a blackberry. In 1910, balls with small dimples were made. These flew further than the bramble pattern balls. Initially the dimples were square but the golf ball makers found that round dimples in the ball surface made it fly even further and this has been what we have in our golf balls since 1920.
