The technology is called a smart phone. A smart phone is basically a cellular phone that runs on a smaller computer processor. The phones can access the internet, and usually have a touch screen. Smart phones work like small computers that can download and run software (apps). You just use the touch screen to navigate through your apps to access anything your heart desires. People use them to check emails, surf the web, use social media, play games, watch movies, work, schedule events, listen to music, etc. The quality of the performance is commonly measured in gigabytes. Say the iPhone 6 plus, it has one gigabyte of RAM, compared to Samsung Galaxy S7 that has four gigabytes of RAM. The storage is also measured in gigabytes ranging from 16GB to 64GB.

They have given me the ability to do things away from my laptop at home. I mainly use it not as an actual cellphone, but a pocket-sized computer to do range of things, surf the web, use social media, play games, and listen to music. However, it is also distracting. Smart phones are becoming a dorm in society due to the convince of having the ability to work on the go. The innovations will probably lead to the end of cameras and computers as a whole. This could lead to economy to change because of the dying of other revenue-dependent products dying, as a cheaper smaller computer grows. On the other hand, they are also making our society a lot lazier because smart phones allow us to order food, bank, skype someone, instead of physically doing it. With new innovations quickly be created, smart phones can become dangerous in the future if modelled carefully. The Samsung S7 Note is already experiencing problems with its exploding battery.
