How have humans used visible and invisible kinds of light to see inside the human body?

Introduction
With technology changing every single day, scientists are finding new was to look inside of the human body. There are many methods all ready that scientists can use to look inside of the human body. After the discovery of X-ray, scientists have developed many new ways to see inside the human body. They are X-rays, MRI, Ct scans and laser treatment but some of these don't use light, so I am only going to focus on the ones that use light like X-rays and laser treatment.

X-rays
X-rays were first discovered in late 1895 by a German physicist, W.C.Roentgen. X rays are electromagnetic waves of high energy and they contain very short wavelengths so they can pass through many materials that are non transparent to light. The X in X-rays is named after the x in mathematics which is to indicate the unknown quantity. In Roentgens study he discovered that that the X-ray could pass through human tissue leaving the bones and metals visible. With the news of what Roentgen discovered, scientists all over the world were duplicating his discovery. At this time this was one of the biggest scientific break throughs because doctors could see fractured bones and gun shot wounds. X-rays are not only used to see inside a human body but there are many other uses such as …show more content…

The machine is called Memphis. Memphis is a machine that uses near inferred light to see the veins of the patient. If this succeeds than doctors will never inject someone in the wrong place ever again. This could be one of the biggest break throughs for being able to inside the human body. Doctors and scientists could develop Memphis into something bigger on a larger scale. Scientists could even maybe even look inside of the whole body only using one big camera in the near
