World War Video Games In Steven Johnson ’s essay “Games” (2005), he constructs his argument by saying that playing video games is no better or worse than reading, it is simply exercising different skills. What kept my interest in this short essay was the fresh take on the subject on how video games effect young adults. He addresses the audience knowing they will agree with his contrast of the two subjects or take it to be completely true. His explanation of it allows him to reach even the biased of readers to accept the rest of his argument.
Panhellenic Games Ancient Greece loved violence in the Panhellenic Games, and fans admired athletes and their tenacious will to fight and win the games. Athletics thrived in ancient Greece, the country that became known as the creator of the Olympic Games. Athletics was a significant part of ancient Greece due to the multiple events and festivals. The Panhellenic festival was the most popular festival which attracted people from all parts of the Greek world. Athletics was more than just a game for the athletes and the fans, it was a way for them to escape warfare.
In the novel “The Grapes of Wrath” by John Steinbeck, the author discusses socio-economic issues in society. The story is centered around the Joad family, who have been kicked off of their land and must move to California to survive. Throughout their journey, the Joad’s encounter problems with their vehicle, authority, and housing conditions as well as losing family members along this journey. The novel depicts common issues that arise from living in a capitalistic society. Steinbeck does an impeccable job of exploring whether being confrontational is a virtue or a flaw in the main character, Tom Joad.

The most used console of all time is the PlayStation 2 and gaming has evolved a lot senese the beginning when there were no home gaming consoles and now pretty much every console is at home, also gaming almost going out of business in the mid to late 1900s now to being a multi billion dollar industry. The most used video gaming console and games of all time is a very close race between many consoles, also how gaming has evolved, and how much companies make off of gaming.
So everyone knows what video game is, a game played by electronically manipulating images produced by a computer program on a television screen or other display screen. Do you not have many misconceptions about video games like “they are for kids, they do not require team work, they are all the same or nothing good ever comes out of video games” (The Crap Gamer,1). People have looked at video games that way for a long time, and no it’s not bad to look at them like that because anyone can misjudge anything by it’s cover. Should we be so judgment about it, no because games are part of our society and they just keep getting better better. But enough of being so pushy about video games, I would like to share a new view towards video games as a discourse community.
Introduction I have been gaming my whole life and it really amazed me how popular it has become. My questions is How Did Gaming Change Throughout History? When I was coming up with my question I wanted it to do with gaming in some way since I am very passionate about gaming and it is one of my hobbies. I gamed on my PC for a long time and I know a fair amount, so instead I decided that I wanted to go back a couple of years and see how gaming evolutionized and how the perception of gaming changed . So I chose 3 large media artists and talked about what they have achieved and how they evolved gaming into what it is now.
Over the years video games have changed a lot. Rapidly improving with the world of technology, they have become more complex. When video games first came out it was for the system Atari. Atari didn’t have many buttons, just a joystick. That game was called pong.
Violent video games have been blamed for everything from bullying to school shootings. Critics of these video games believe they cause people to commit violent acts in real life. These critics, mainly comprised of parents and other responsible adults, don’t agree with what the video games portray. Others say the video games cause less violence and are an outlet for anger and stress. Although violent video games have violent actions in them, teenagers should be able to play violent video games because there isn’t enough evidence to prove they make teens more aggressive, it could prevent violence, and violent video games are a fun and relaxing way to relieve stress and anger.
For many teenagers in our world today, playing video games may be a huge part of their daily lives. In contrast, many individuals think playing violent video games will not be safe for kids. However, research has shown that video games have solved some of science’s biggest problems. Teens could someday cure diseases. Also, kids who play violent games are being “exposed” to what war may be really like.
