Henry Ford and The Assembly Line changed the way we make cars today. Some topics that will be discussed are Henry Ford’s life, his accomplishments and the assembly line. Henry Ford has many accomplishments, including The Model A, The Elliott Cresson Medal, and the assembly line.

On July 30, 1863 Henry Ford was born and he was the first surviving son until old age of William and Mary Ford. He was born in Dearborn, Michigan on a prosperous farm. He went to the Detroit Business Institute for college. He became passionate about becoming a mechanic at 16 and soon ended up working as a electrician at the Detroit Electric Company. In his own garage Henry Ford built the first gasoline powered horseless carriage, the Quadricycle. Henry started building his company, The Ford Motor Company was started in the early 1900’s. The Model T was his first creation but there was one problem with it. It was just too expensive, he had to sell it for about 800- 1200 dollars, which was expensive then. First, The Assembly Line, the Assembly Line changed the way we make cars today by Reducing Worker Shifts, making cars cheaper to produce and making cars quicker made. Basically a process of making cars where certain parts are put on a conveyor belt and put in place in order moving from one station to another by workers. This process was quicker and made worker shifts shorter therefore making these cars cost less to make. Now that the cars were not as expensive to make Ford could sell them for less. Now that they were sold for less more people were buying the Model T, which was the popular car back then. The assembly line made the Model T the first affordable middle class
