Today marks the beginning of the rest of our lives. Today our title changes from high school students to semi-functioning adults. Today is our graduation day, the conclusion of one chapter and the beginning of another. Throughout high school, we have built ourselves up and broken ourselves down. Now, from here, we must start all over again. In the past four years we’ve gained knowledge and made mistakes; now we must take those mistakes and lessons and apply it to our futures ahead. Throughout the past four years, I think it’s safe to say that we’ve learned a lot. So much knowledge has been drilled into our minds in this short amount of time. We have been frequently tested through class-based tests, projects, and labs. We have been standardized with all of America through the ACT and Advanced Placement testing. But, no matter how each of us individually sit in our class ranks or our GPA, we have all expanded our academic knowledge. Our knowledge has also grown outside of academics. Before high school, I went to a small school. For nine years, I went to class with the same 19 people. You can imagine high school was a big step for me. I was quite nervous transitioning into a new school with so many new people. On the night before the first day of my freshman year, my dad said to me, “You can either make the next four years the best of your life or the worst. That’s up to you.” I can confidently say now, standing here on the very last day of my high school career that I made the best out of these past four years. The memories I have
