"How I got my black eye" What happens when you get a detriment, also known as a black eye? Well, I do, so today I'm going to tell a story about how I got my first serious injury. So it was a Tuesday night and I just got home from school. I ate dinner, which was basically just a sandwich, and did my homework. After about 2 hours of doing homework and other stuff, it was time for me to go to swimming. So I packed my bags, got my Gatorade bottle, and hopped in into the car with my dad to go to swimming. After about a 20 minute drive, we arrived at the swimming pool. I put my bag down and started talking to my friends until my coach said it was time to do dryland. Then we got ready for the main set which is when things start to get negative. First off, the set was IM which means that all four strokes were required to do the set. Second, back then, I was very bad at IM, so I was usually was the last person in the lane but now I'm one of the fastest people in the group for IM. Anyway, that day I went 3rd to last in my lane. Towards the middle of the set, I was about to lap a girl that was doing breaststroke and I was doing freestyle. Then I hopped out of the pool and gone over to my coach who came to check out how my eye was. He checked out my eye and he said it looked pretty bad and he had immediately had called my dad over to tell him what had just happened. My coach then went to get a doctor that worked at the swimming pool to check out my eye. He said that I had to go to the hospital as quickly as possible because the inside of my eye had been bleeding. He had called an ambulance to rush me to the hospital. On the ambulance, they had given me an ice pack to put over my eye, and then everything had went blurry until I remembered that I was at a local St.Lukes hospital lying in a bed in medical room. When I was at the hospital, they had taken an x-ray and all sorts of test to see how my body was doing. It turns out that I had swallowed a lot of water when I was unconscious. It also turned out that I really was bleeding inside my
