Have you ever heard about a story of an epic hero? Beowulf is a poem written by Burton Raffel, which narrates the story of how Beowulf becomes a hero in every human being’s heart. Beowulf is a powerful people with strong muscle. In order to protect the village, which is plundered by the monster Grendel. Many warriors followed Beowulf to the village and began to fight with Grendel. Although they defeated the monster, Grendel’s mother threw down the challenge again in order to revenge for her son. However, Beowulf is brave that no matter how fierce the war is, he always stands out and fights with courageous. Therefore, fighting in any kinds of war to protect the world, Beowulf is courageous in everyone’s mind. Beowulf protects the village with grittiness. When the villagers met the problems, Beowulf took a hazardous journey to Herot with the warriors and they never stopped or had a rest.“To escape him, searched for rest in different beds, as far from Herot as they could find, seeing how Grendel hunted when they slept.”(line 54-56) The warriors even worked at night to fight with the killer in this village.
