Changes have happened in many historic times. One of the times that caused major changes was in Colonial Williamsburg during the Revolutionary war era. At this time, there was a strong religion that colonists believed in. When there is a religion, there is normally a place to practice this religion, like a church. In the 1700s, that church would be the Bruton Parish Church. Showing many historical significances in the past, and present, this church was a key landmark. One main reason was it was relevant to the Colonial Williamsburg theme, and it connected to change. Because of these concepts, it is the most deserving of a commemorative coin. The Bruton Parish Church was very significant in colonial times. It is a church that was built about 300 years ago and was built in. Being the only church in the area, it was the place where many historic heroes and figures went to worship. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, to name a few. What was very exceptional was that it was the only church that these people went to in during the Revolutionary War. It is used as a real church that people can go to. Anybody can go to it and see the place where the royal governor sat, where the pastor stood to preach, where the organist sat, and how wealthy the people were according to how close to the front they sit. The graveyard in the churchyard also shows wealth of the people. It was an honor to be buried inside the church, as well as outside. When people died, they were normally buried in their homes, but if they were important to the church, they would be buried there.
