Gatsby, a rather interesting man but also still mysterious in various ways. He faked his life to get a girl that wasn't all that for him anymore and well it lead to him getting himself killed by myrtle's husband Wilson. Due to tom, who mislead wilson. As for what really matters here is what his lies and deceits were as well as his love for ditzy daisy, and how his wealth was supposed to help him win daisy’s heart. Gatsby lived a double life in the sense. Having left the military after WWI he hoped to return to his daisy, but soon he found out that his dream came to an end. Daisy had “forgotten” about Gatsby and went to marry Tom Buchanan, so Gatsby created his fake life. He had a fake name fake career, fake everything. His career was something else full of lies and deceits and dirt money as they called it. He was a bootlegger, invested in the stock market, and made a fortune, but this was nothing to daisy. His wealth was even beyond Tom and his family was very endowed in money, land, and knowledge. He was smart about obtaining his dirty money by keeping it out of the public,but also knowing the right people to make sure he was in the clear. This mainly dealt with the fact what he was doing was highly illegal but that didn’t stop him from trying to win over his dream girl.
