The original motion picture just consisted of different pictures that were placed together to make them look as if they were actually moving. An example of this was a horse that was running. There was no sound or even a story line in these movies. These movies usually lasted no more than 10 minutes in length. There were many factors that lead to the development of the motion picture industry such as when people saw the hype that these first movies were getting, more and more people started going to the movies and in order to gain attention and keep peoples interest, the film industry evolved into what it is today. Some examples of this are in the beginning films did not name the actors in the movie because they thought that they would create stars. As we know, this has since changed. Most celebrities are extremely famous and have paparazzi following them around. In an article called, “The Promotion of American Culture through Hollywood Movies in the World” it says that “Hollywood is the succeed story of America which it works as an instrument to affect the ideology, and culture of the world populations. (Maisuwong, 2012, p. 2). The article also goes on to say “Since Hollywood influences the movie industries around the world, on the other side, Hollywood as well gains the benefits from its Hollywoodization. Hollywood tries to take advantage of its popularity over local audiences and distribute films in many other languages. (Maisuwong, 2012, p. 3). This is very true. There are many movies that are converted into other languages. There are even foreign language films that have english subtitles. Hollywood tries to reach the masses when they make
