Serial killers have been the source of fascination for many years, with the public often intrigued by both their horrific crimes and the psychology behind them. Two of America’s most well known serial killers are Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer. Both men were responsible for numerous murders, yet their methods and motivations were very different. The Silence of the Lambs, Ted Bundy, and Jeffrey Dahmer are all notorious serial killers, but each has distinct characteristics in their motivations, methods, and the public's reaction to them.
Ted Bundy was an American serial killer who committed numerous brutal crimes in the late 20th century. His upbringing is an important part of his story, as it gives an insight into the circumstances that may have shaped his behavior and attitude.

As a shy and socially isolated child, he was unable to form meaningful relationships with his peers. He also had depression and felt loneliness at most times. He was also known to be a loner and to have difficulty expressing his emotions. On the other hand, Ted Bundy was able to form relationships with his peers and was considered to be well-liked and outgoing. He was also able to participate in activities such as sports and debate (McNamara 2017).
Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy's childhood traumas also had an effect on their criminal behavior. Dahmer's childhood experiences of physical and verbal abuse as well as neglect probably contributed to his development of violence. He was also known to have a fascination with death and dissection, which he acted on in his later years by killing and dismembering his victims.
