In the book To Kill A Mockingbird during the tribules time of the Richard trial, the children of Atticus finch were meant with a mild backlash due to the position of the trial, and during this the eldest son Jem was faced with a stance of anger and resentment of the people around him.During this book while the family was waiting for the trial Jem was faced with the decision whether he should defend his father(whose name was being squandered behind his back) or wether Jem should put down his pride and let his father take this berdin. We can all agree that Jem was exposed to the backlash his father was receiving and wanted to defend his father, But some believe that he should have obeyed his father and not stood up for him. Jrm shouldn't have tried to defend his father. Jem should have defended his father. Jem shouldn't have defended his father, for three reasons. It was Atticus's wish for Jem to not get involved. If he disobeyed Atucus’s wish he would be in more trouble. It would lead to disrespecting atticus. And only the people who were uniformed were against Atticus.
