In William Shakespeare's tragedy Macbeth, Several characters commit wicked, terrible acts. The most evil character in the play, however, Is Lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth is the most evil character in the play because she tempted her husband to kill King Duncan, she prayed to Satan, and she acted like everything was okay until her end. Young King Malcolm describe the Lady Macbeth as Macbeth’s “Fiendlike queen” ( 5. 8. 69). Lady Macbeth's willingness to commit wicked acts make her the most evil character in the play. Why does Macbeth kill King Duncan? Because Lady Macbeth convinced him to do so. This all could have easily been avoided if Macbeth never told Lady Macbeth about the witches prophecy, then Lady Macbeth would have never convinced him to kill King Duncan and a lot of people would still be alive. As Macbeth is worried about failing in killing King Duncan and thinking about not going through with the murder, Lady Macbeth says, “------------” (). I'm not positive, but maybe possibly that's not really normal. She prayed to Satan so she cannot feel guilt when trying to convince Macbeth to kill King Duncan. As Lady Macbeth says when she receives the message from Macbeth, “ Make thick my blood, stop up th’ access and passage to remorse that no compunctious visitings of nature shake my fell purpose, nor keep peace between th’ effect and it! Come to my woman's breasts, and take my milk for gall, you murd’ring ministers, wherever in your sightless substances you wait on nature's mischief!” ( 1. 5. 43-50). As stated before but in Shakespearean times I think possibly trying to pray to Satan could be a big no no...Especially when you're trying to kill the King of Scotland.
