Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
The book is about Lennie and George running away from Weed and working in another Ranch in California. The two of them dream about getting their own ranch and being able to make the rules and become happy for the rest of their lives. However, Lennie is a strong character who is very uneducated and gets him and George into lots of trouble.
Lennie often makes mistakes that cause consequences that hurt him. George talks about how Lennie grabbed onto a woman’s dress in Weed in wouldn’t let go even though she was screaming. On page 42, Of Mice and Men, “He was so scairt he couldn’t let go of the dress.” This trait made the woman in the dress panick and sent out a party of men to lynch Lennie which drove George and Lennie out of Weed.
Lennie doesn’t know his own strength.

That’s nice,” and he stroked harder… She jerked her head sideways, and Lennie’s fingers closed on her hair and hung. “Let go,” she cried. “You let go!”... He shook her then... and she was still, for Lennie had broken her neck.” This trait get’s Curley mad and the workers at the ranch search for him and George is forced to kill him.
Lennie is static. Lennie finds comfort in touching soft objects and animals but doesn’t know when to let go of it. Curley wants to hunt down and kill Lennie for murdering his wife. On page 45, “Here—feel right here.” She took Lennie’s hand and put it on her head. “Feel right aroun’ there an’ see how soft it is.” Lennie’s big fingers fell to stroking her hair. “Don’t you muss it up,” she said. Lennie said, “Oh! That’s nice,” and he stroked harder. “Oh, that’s
