He is so overconfident he doesn’t realise that he can’t fight fate. What makes MacBeth a tragic hero is that he is a important person in society, he has a weakness, and death makes the world a better place. MacBeth is a very important person in society in act 1 he is made Thane of Cawdor and he already was the Thane of Glamis. In act 3 he is then named king of Scotland.
