Andrea Sachs:
Andy is a character who’s passionate about journalism. She is ambitious, determined to excel in what she does and with the right amount of motivation she can prove herself as capable and the type of girl who is good at her work. She is often clumsy and rather awkward in the beginning of the movie as she lands up in job/ environment that she doesn’t truly belong in. She can also be considered modest at times and takes challenges head-on. She tries to do the best of her ability regardless of Miranda constantly criticizing her. Andy also doesn’t have a great sense of fashion, however that improves a little bit into the movie.
Miranda Priestly:
Miranda is a perfectionist; she knows how to do her job well. She expects precision out of everything and for everything to be completely how she wants it with no room for error. She has an amazing fashion sense. She isn’t willing to compromise with the image of Runway Magazine and will not allow for the belittling of fashion in any way. She is considered to be very demanding and direct, but this is why Runway Magazine is such a success.
Emily Charlton:
Emily is yet another character who is passionate about fashion. She is glamorous and dresses well and appropriately to her job as compared to Andy when we first see her. She knows her work well and is very efficient. She is a very judgmental person, especially with Andy in the beginning of the movie.
