Have you ever heard the stories “Night” by Elie Wiesel and “The Diary of Anne Frank” by Anne Frank? These books give a vivid description of what Elie and Anne went through during the horrible events of the Holocaust. They both suffered a lot and went through a lot. They both were in a place they could not leave and suffered a lot during these books. I believe that both stories have similarities. One example where they were comparable was when they both were in a place where they couldn’t leave. In “The Diary of Anne Frank” on page 520 it states, “never to go outdoors. never to breathe fresh air. never to run and shout and jump.” This means that Anne never got to see the outside world and go outside while stuck in the annex. All she had to do was stay inside and never be seen. In “Night” on page 22 it states, “if someone managed to escape, that person would be shot.” During this part of the story Elie was in a cattle car and if they escaped they would get shot by one of the officers. In “Night” on page 17 it states, “we had spent the day without food.” While in the concentration camps Elie and his father would go days without food. Sometimes they would even get their food taken away. In “The Diary of Anne Frank” on page 528 it states, “We can stretch the food a little. It’s only for a few days.” While in the annex, Anne and the others ran out of more and more food each day. They tried to make it through with however much food they had left. Elie and Anne both struggled getting enough food while in their situations and they tried to get through it somehow and they have more similarities to each
