People would want to go back to when a photo was taken. Katie Mitchell has said, “These tiny images, sometimes only 3in x 1in, with their curled edges, are the only way of touching people in my past. Like many people, my family was broken up by time, events, places, and so on, and looking at these are a way of putting my past together”(O’Hagan).
