Sophie Bloomhuff 502 S. 5th St. Eldridge, IA 52748. May 9, 2024 Scott County Courthouse 400 W. 4th St. Davenport, IA 52801. Dear Jury Members: Mr. Eldridge should be found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of murder. Although the defense claims he is not guilty, they are wrong because a witness saw David Eldridge at the crime before Mr. Armes was found dead shortly after screams were heard coming from the scene, Mr. Armes and Mr. Eldridge were the only people with access to the restaurant and combination to the safe and the Family Fun Restaurant had no sign of a break-in, also David Eldridge had the motive to kill Mr. Armes since the bank was going to repossess his house and Mr. Armes refused to give him a raise so Mr. Eld armes.
In David Eldridge's house, they found some evidence. David even works at the Family Fun restaurant and that's also where Mr. Arms works. The restaurant was always busy, but David Eldridge never got a raise. David Eldridge was always mad at Mr. Arms. David Eldridge is guilty because there is enough evidence proving that he murdered Mr. Arms.
A second thing the defense might claim would be that Sheriff Heck Tate only meant to cause less harm to more people by claiming Bob Ewell had killed himself, without thorough investigation. The truth is, moreover, if Bob Ewell did not kill himself, then there is someone dangerous still lurking in the shadows of Maycomb County. A third thing the defense may say would be that there was no possible way to figure out who had killed Bob Ewell, due to the lack of light
Now, one thing that doesn’t help prove his innocence is that we don’t know where he was during the robbery. When asked about his location he states: “ I don’t know exactly where I was when the robbery took place…”And it doesn’t help that the only people who testify to his location are saying that he was involved in the robbery. But as previously stated, everyone who testifies against him has reason to lie and everything they say is within the realm of reasonable
There are multiple strong pieces of evidence proving this to be true. These pieces of evidence prove that Mr. Eldridge is guilty. David Eldridge is guilty of Mr Armes’ murder. The strongest piece of evidence is the fact that David Eldridge had a spatula with Mr.Armes’ blood on it.
I believe that if this was tried again that David Goodreau would still be found guilty. Only because when he confessed he knew certain things about the crime that ordinary people wouldn't known. There were defiantly problems with the investigation, Starting with the fact that the police didn't even peruse the murders of the two girls. Another problem with the investigation was that the police never really looked or found any evidence at the crime scenes. David Goodreau was sentenced to life in prison with out parole.
Dear Jury Members: Mr. Bennett should be found guilty because, Mr. Adam’s cause of death was rat poisoning, and Mr. Bennett was the only person at the party with rat poison on his hands. Next, Mr. Bennett had a motive to kill Mr. Adams and had been poisoned with rat poison. Finally, Mr. Bennett would have to sell his beloved home, which had been in his family for generations, so he was desperate to kill. The first piece of evidence against Mr. Bennett had a motive to kill Mr. Adams because he owed him $250,000 and didn’t have the money to pay him back.
Mr Bennett should be found not guilty of murder because there is reasonable doubt. Although the prosecution says Mr. Bennett is guilty, he is not because Mr. Alfaro’s fingerprints were found on the coffee mug and the rat poison that was found was only available to exterminators and Mr. Alfaro was an exterminator also Mr Alfaro poured Mr. Adams a cup of coffee five minutes before the death, Mrs. Reid was Mr. Adam’s closest relative she believed she was gonna inherit everything from him but she was also very jealous and often spread nasty rumors about Mr. Adam’s, Mrs, Swanson said that Mr. Adams sugar looks very similar in size, shape, and color. The strongest piece of evidence is that Mr. Alfaro’s fingerprints were found on Mr. Adam’s coffee mug, and that the rat poison used was only available to exterminators and Mr. Alfaro was the only exterminator.
Mr. Bennett should not be found guilty of the murder of Mr. Adams because reasonable doubt exists. Although the prosecution claims he was guilty, they are incorrect because when he found Mr. Adams died he immediately checked for a pulse and didn't find one after checking. Mr. Bennett's fingerprints were not found on the coffee cup that was used for his coffee. The strongest piece of evidence is that Mr. Alfaro’s prints were also found on the coffee mug. The rat poison found in the cupboard was only available to exterminators.
Dear Jury Members: Is Mr. Bennett guilty of murdering Mr. Adams? Mr. Bennett is not guilty of murdering Mr. Adams. He is not guilty of murdering Mr. Adams because there was not enough evidence to prove that he murdered Mr. Adams. There are many other suspects who could be guilty. There is much more evidence that proves the other suspects did it and not Mr. Bennett.
Dear Jury Members: In my opinion, David Eldiridge should be found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of murder. Although the defense claims that he is innocent of this crime, they are incorrect because Eldridge had motive to kill Mr. Armes, there was no sign of a break-in, but all the money was gone and he had the key, and lastly, a witness had placed him at the scene near the time of the murder and his footprints were all around the body. First, David Eldridge had the motive to kill Mr. Armes because he was very angry after Mr. Armes hadn’t given him a raise and he needed money because the bank was going to repossess his house, so he could have stolen the recipe and robbed him to get the money. David was the only one that could get into the restaurant and rob Mr. Armes since he has the keys and the combo to the safe.
A Burning World Tod Willingham was convicted of arson Dec 23rd 1991 in Corsicana, Texas. There were many signs that he could have done it, but there were more signs that prove his innocence. Arson wasn’t the only thing he was convicted for, he was convicted for the murder of his 3 daughters as well. In this essay, the evidence will show that Tod Willingham was innocent and didn’t deserve the death penalty or even prison.
Many times in life, people are accused of actions that were not theirs. They must go through a series of events to prove this action wrong and abhorrent. In the novel, Monster, written by Walter Dean Myers, Steve, a sixteen-year-old boy, young and confused, has been placed on trial accused of felony murder. As the jury looked into this case, they came to the conclusion Steve was not guilty. Many factors led to the conclusion of Steve being proven not guilty.
Mr. Bennet should not be found guilty because there is beyond reasoning that Mr. Bennet did not kill Mr. Armes. Although the prosecution thinks he's guilty, the evidence shows that he's not. For example, one reason why he's not guilty is that it could have been the exterminator because he came over the same day Mr. Armes died and he could've put the rat poison in his coffee. The strongest piece of evidence in this case is that the spilled coffee had rat poisoning in it. Mr. Bennet should not be found guilty of the crime of Mr. Armes' death because reasonable doubt exists.
Many Women were killed from persecutions of witchcraft in the late 15th century to the 17th century. There are many reasons for the persecutions, during that time period there was the Reformation, and the Thirty Years War. The Reformation was a fight over that was caused because the church was lying to the people who went to catholic churches and saying that you need to pay to get rid of your sins, and the Thirty Years War was a war over religion that lasted thirty years. Factors in the late 15th century and the 17th century that led to witchcraft persecutions were The Reformation, and the Thirty Years War.
