After the First World War, European countries tried to undo the destruction caused by great battles during the war. The Allies constructed The Treaty of Versailles causing Germany to accept the war blame. Germany was forced to pay respiration and had to give up a lot of their land causing Germany’s economy to crash. Hitler started to convince the Germans that he would bring Germany back to its original status and bring great wealth. But to rebuild Germany's status Hitler violated the Treaty of Versailles by having an army over 100,000 mens and going into the Rhineland. One of the reasons why the world suffered another war is because Germany violated the Treaty of Versailles. They violated the treaty so their country would be great and they would get back to their original status before WWI. Hitler promised the German people that he will bring Germany out of the crash and make Germany more powerful than before. Adolf Hitler shares some of his ideas the German people, ”Oppressed territories are led back to the bosom of a common Reich, not by flaming protest, but by a mighty sword”(Document 1). Hitler is trying to convince the German people that they should start taking over land, not peacefully but by force. In order to take over other nations, he started to build up his army, violating one part of the Treaty. This wasn’t the only part that he violated. As Document 3 states,” Adolf Hitler, as commander-in-chief of the Reich defense forces, sent his new battalions into the Rhineland demilitarized zone”(Document 3). Knowing that Germany will not enter the Rhineland, Hitler sent his army to conquer the land that they lost, also violating another part of the Treaty. If the European nations didn’t follow Hitler then they could have stopped him from growing more powerful and stopped him from starting another war. The European nations appeased to Hitler’s demands because they all feared another great war. The broadcast by William Shirer states,”the Big Four... dispel the clouds of war and come to an agreement over the partition of Czechoslovakia. There is to be no European war… the price of that peace is...the ceding by Czechoslovakia of the Sudeten territory to Herr Hitler’s Germany” (Document 4). In fear of another European war, the nations gave into the German demands. Because the nations were giving into the germany’s demand, Hitler started to gain more power.
