Copyright Act As a marketing employee, I will ensure that my firm’s website development conforms to the Copyright Act. This act is to give rights to web author to prevent others from reproducing a work, displaying or distributing a work or design from the Website. According to this act, web author should alert that they did not copy the work of others. There are several “rule-of-thumb” to guide web page creator when deciding images and design for incorporated into their own page which are creating original images from drawing and painting program, avoid taking images from third parties, get the license to use the licensed images (E.g. Microsoft “Internet Explorer” logo), use clip-art Libraries provided with software, and free images off the Internet. It is the main piece of legislation that governs the protection of personal data in UK. It gives the internet user the rights to know what information is held about them and ensure that personal information is handled properly. In this Act, it stated the firm must make sure that customer personal information must be fairly and lawfully processed, not kept for longer than is necessary, secure, not transferred to other countries without adequate protection. This Act will limit my firm’s website development because if our website wants to collect user data, we should include a Privacy Policy that informs website visitors on how you store, process and disclose their data even just a simple enquiry form for asking Name, Email and Phone
