The naturalization process is the process in which an immigrant becomes a United States citizen. The naturalization process is a very difficult process which immigrant residents have to through to achieve the “American Dream”. The naturalization process is very time consuming, and very expensive. The test is probably one of the hardest parts of the naturalization process. The naturalization process should be simpler. First the naturalization process should be made easier because the whole process is very time consuming. Depending on where you live is how long it takes to get approved, on average it takes five to eight months to get approved, but if you live in a state where immigrant population is high it could take more than two years (“how”). Before you can apply you have to be a permanent resident of the U.S. for at least five years (“CUNY”). A faster way is if you get married to a U.S. citizen but that still takes three years (“CUNY”). Well they have been here their whole lives but some immigrants may even pass away waiting that long and all that effort, and time will just go to waste. They may also say that the test is difficult because they must know the history of the state they will become citizens of. Yes they need to know the some history but not that much of history, not even a citizen that is born here knows all that much history. Lastly someone may argue that the price is not that bad because they could save up and get up to those $680. They have to think that they live in poverty and sometimes nearly have to eat and clothe themselves and their children
