How The Three Branches Of Government Guard Against Tyranny

In the summer of 1787, fifty five delegates met in Philadelphia so that they could make a new government because the one that they had was just too weak and wasn’t doing the job. James Madison wrote, “The accumulation of all powers . . . in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many (is) the very definition of tyranny” to support the new Constitution. James Madison basically thought that all power, no matter if it was in only one person's hands was classified as tyranny. He also thought that if all of the power was in a few hands than that was still classified as tyranny. The three different branches of government helped guard against tyranny. They helped guard against tyranny because each branch has different people in it and that means that not all of the same people are making the laws and enforcing them. Now they have multiple people creating the laws which decreases any chance of tyranny. With the three different branches of government comes the sharing of power which also helps guard against tyranny. If they all can come together and share all of the power than we can have a government successfully without having any problems with tyranny. All three branches have a purpose in the government and they work together so that they can have a good government without worrying about tyranny. The legislative branch gives all of their power to the Senate and the House of Representatives and they are supposed to make the laws and pass the laws. The Executive branch invests all of their power to the president and vice president, and their job is to enforce the laws. The judicial branch gives all of their power to the Supreme Court, and their job is to explain the laws to the country and make sure that they are Constitutional.
