Thomas Hobbes once said “Curiosity is the lust of the mind” and I have never agreed to a quote more. I mean, of course, there have been others, but none has truly reached my understanding of curiosity. Hobbes has created many pieces of literature, like the exemplification above, that have had a lasting impact on our lives today. Thomas Hobbes believed that because of our own greed and selfishness, without a ruler we would go into certain anarchy. In order for us to even picture a utopia, a leader would certainly be needed. However, this is where his morals and ideas are slightly faulted. How could we be ruled by someone who holds just as much selfishness as us? The answer is simple and in plain sight. Everyone must progress past our natural way of life and work together. We must appoint a sovereign or sovereigns in order for us to create and achieve a successful population. People have their own rights, even more surprisingly, women have their own rights. Our president is someone the majority of us vote for.
