There were many days I would wake up and feel like not attending class but I would get up and go anyways. The
College is difficult. Because I am a first semester student, I know that I am facing many challenges. One of the challenges is making a schedule because classes have different days and different times. Creating a schedule becomes even more difficult if students have a job or children to take care of.
What I should’ve done instead was to attend class every single day and 15 minutes prior to the regular time class starts, to make sure I have all my materials ready before the professor arrives and to grab the front row seat. This will improve my grades because I will be less distracted, talk less, and have hand written notes to study. I also plan to exclude myself from too much parties because I have a lot on my plate and these are first on my priority list, and are the most important. Partying can wait till after graduation. The clubs will always be there, the frat house will always be there, and people and music will always be there; what’s not always going to be there is my education, as long as I’m attending school, I will not participate in such activities because it’ll hinder my education
Some even say “Going to college is as much about finding out who you really are as it is about getting that degree” (Staff). There are many things that a college student finds out about themselves, such as their work ethic, how well they manage their time, and how to live away from home. Students have a much heavier and intense work load than they did in High School, which teaches students how to manage their time well. Students must have good time management so that they don’t fall behind in their work. Going to college is an enjoyable part of ones life where they learn new things about themselves at the same time making new friends and learning new
I am the type of person that has to make lists and use a planner. With school, BNC, and work things can get pretty crazy. I tried using the calender on my phone and then I tried just winging it but that was an epic fail.
College classes are going to be much more demanding and have a lot more works than most classes in High School do. I am able to work at least five hours a day, and still get all my homework done in the same night and I never go to bed any later than eleven. I am a workaholic though, and I feel like I need to be working to stay busy, or I would probably get in trouble. In College, I will not be able to work as much as I usually do, therefore, I will not be able to make as much money as I am used to. If I don't have as much money as I am used to, there is no way I will be able to spend as much money as I like.
Why did all of a sudden beliefs become necessary in college? Beliefs are valuable to live life and are personal. However after reading a chapter from a book called College Thinking: How to Get the Best Out of College, by Jack Meiland, Meiland presented a variety of points discussing the importance of having reasoning to their beliefs and claims. His statements are agreeable and appealing for the reason for being a high school student and soon to be a college student. Meiland reveals that beliefs play a significant role when elaborating the differences between the idea that high school is the basis of authority and college is the basis of reasoning.
Attending class was never a problem for me during my undergraduate career because I was always enthusiastic about learning something new in class or lab. I was fortunate enough to have taken an Advanced Anatomy class that Lock Haven University offered. I found this class very intriguing because it contained a cadaver
“A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to preserve and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” Christopher Reeve once wrote. Students face lots of obstacles while attending college, one obstacle is getting to class. According to the Institutional research and Assessment, On average the 13,755 degree students in fall 2012, Session I who took at least one college-level course were marked absent for 15% of their college-level class meeting. Attending class is important to me because I hate being behind on school work.
Missing class is not smart because of the fast pace, you 'll miss out on notes and helpful material especially if it’s a three hour night class. Your professor is most likely has a doctorate in the field they are teaching unlike in college the football coach can be a guidance counselor but
Time Management and Finding Balance While Attending College There are many reasons why students do not attend or finish college right after they complete high school. Some people are not necessarily ready to focus on 4 more years of school or some may become skilled in a trade and instead of pursuing a degree, they choose to acquire a skill and earn money. For me it was a combination of not being quite ready to focus on University level courses and not having the financial backing to complete college. At any rate with the invention of the internet and the inter communication that is available now, someone like me, can now work a full time job and still earn credits in college from the comfort of my own home. As comfortable and convenient as it all sounds, there are still quite a few obstacles for achieving your goals while balancing family, career and the demanding schedule of online courses.
Pedro Cassoma – Journal 17 It is not that easy to be a successful college student here in the US. It is very hard not only for resident students, but also, and mainly, for international students. In my case, as international student for instance, the the biggest obstacles that stand in my way to college success is the reason that English is not my first language, and my shyness. I have been learning English for almost one year and a half and my English proficiency is getting better.

Some of these obstacles may include friendships, overwhelming classes, anxiety, and time management. But would you ever think that technology would be one of those obstacles? Technology is becoming a very important aspect in college.
As you get closer and closer to your senior year of college there are a few things that you need to starting thinking about. One major thing that you need to focus on is your goals during and after your college period. You need to have a plan for your short-term goals, mid-term goals, and long-term goals. Why do we need these goals? Because they keep us on track for something that we wish to accomplish, they motivate us to help us push ourselves to the limit, it’s what keeps us fundamentally on track.
Attending class is important so I don't miss any assignments and get behind. Being in class is important because its proven that students are more likely to succeed when they have an good attendance. I do much better in school when I don't miss a lot of days. It is very easy to get behind in class when I don't show up.
