Maggie had experienced her father killing her mother in front of her. Since her mother’s death she had decided to stay quiet and to not talk to anyone. Two years later she moved in with her uncle, aunt, and cousin in Lawton, Louisiana. Her cousin Brady was a very popular person at high school and was also a football player. Brady’s best friend West a popular football player was going through a hard time since his father had cancer. He didn’t tell anyone because he still didn’t want to accept it. He later on met Maggie and found out what she had gone through and talked to her although he knew she didn’t talk at all. She surprised him and talked to him but she only talked to him. She told him she only talked to him because she understood his pain and she wanted to help him. Brady had told all of his friends to stay away from Maggie because he didn’t want to see her get hurt. He started getting suspicious about West’s and Maggie’s relationship. He warned West and he only agreed with him but didn’t want him to know the truth to why he was always talking to Maggie. He told Brady that they were just friends but he knew he liked her more than a friend. As weeks passed West’s father was getting worse. It included sadness with West’s fathers sickness and Maggie’s mothers death. The characters personalities were good and the way the author described the characters it helped a lot when I tried to visualize how that person is like. The settings in which the characters were in were described well. The way Maggie was described was good it showed how much she was affected and why she thought keeping quiet and not talking to anyone helped her. This book is one of the best I have read I just really liked the plot and how it didn’t just focus on romance and that the conflicts in the book were not about
