Forrest Gump Forrest Gump is a remarkable movie with his low IQ everyone thinks he is stupid but he shows us that he is by far not. He teaches us “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get.” This movie will make you laugh, and cry. It is very inspirational, he was never afraid to hide who he was. Everyone should watch at least once it has everything. There was a lot of love in this film. Forrest’s mama loved him so much that she would do anything for him. The school wasn’t going to let him in because he was stupid, so they make you think she slept with the principal so he could get an education like every other child. While he is fighting in the Vietnam war he saved half his platoon by carrying them to safety and during all that he was shot in the buttocks and was awarded the purple star. He started the Bubba Gump Shrimp company, and made millions. He also ran across the country with followers who thought he was running for a cause but he was just running because he felt like it. The writers just make him an amazing man. Another great reason to watch this movie is that there is a lot of history in it. Forrest would meet three different presidents. The first time he met John Kennedy for playing football. He later met Lyndon Johnson while he was awarded the Medal of Honor. And finally, he met president Nixon for his ping-pong skills. He also went to Black Panthers headquarters with Jenny. And he served in the Vietnam war. All these are big parts of history that were real so it was an awesome way to through history into this film. Forrest taught us lots of life lessons that his mama taught him. One of which is “Mama always said life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get.” Second is “Mama always said dying is a part of life.” And “Stupid is as stupid does.” And finally, “mama says these are magic shoes, they can take you anywhere.” All these quotes have so much meaning and we still hear people refer to them to this
