Key question 43 Part a) William Shakespeare is one of the famous and influential English writers. He has written quite a number of plays, sonnets and poems which have reinvented and redefined English making it interesting. Around 1564, he was born to a middle class family and got married at an age of 18. His plays range from tragedy, love, comedy and history. His comedies tend to have happy endings which in most cases led to marriage. For tragedies like Othello, a happy beginning ends with betrayal and doom while historical plays are more political. His sonnets also covers all the aspects of human experiences. In this lesson, here are a number of items to be covered while studying the works by Shakespeare. The major items to be learnt for the reading of Shakespeare’ work include; taking note of the changes in grammars during Shakespeare time and the modern day English. If you notice the Grammar in his novels, it is somehow different from today’s English and some have criticized his English as well. Students should also take note of the various vocabularies, the themes, the symbols and styles used by Shakespeare in his various work. I felt like my presentation was superb because it covered all the important aspects of the works of Shakespeare. When delivering to the audience, I felt at ease and at peace knowing that they were closely and happily following from their facial expressions. The presentation was therefore a success because the audience was co-operative, interested in hearing out my presentation and their active participation was a motivation to me. I made the audience feel part of the presentation by allowing them to ask questions which helped me to know that they understood my
