The purpose of this study was to study coaches’ viewpoints on the personal development student-athletes experience within university sport. Discover the ways in which coaches understand, enable, and facilitate the personal development of student-athletes. How they facilitated opportunities for athletes’ personal development through sports. The article gives personal examples from each coach that was interviewed, in not numbers or a certain population of student athletes. The research came from both male and female coach with their personal perspective on the development of athletes, with hard data. The research should extend to other universities. Identifying the positive aspects of being a student-athlete, it is important that the media and society recognize individuals that embody both the academic and athletic aspects. This article discusses the ways in which student athletes have been discredited for their lack of interest to learn from the actions of a small population of student athletes. The article also provides recommendations for improving the academic outcomes of student athletes. The information provided in this article is an effort to help lessen the negative view of student athletes. The article developing an institutional culture toward degree attainment for student athletes seeks to improve the image of student athletes. The problem with this article is that is it only addresses the community college student athletes. It also failed to provide data for larger universities' sports programs across the USA. It also provided inaccurate database off the participation of one community college. When providing data on group my suggestion is to include more than one institution.
