I wake up in the morning as early as 6:00 am. I have to get up so early just so I can get ready for school. I see my classmates walk through the school hallways deprived of sleep. I try to stay awake as much as possible during my classes, I just really wish I could have gotten some more sleep so I can make it through the school day. And I think to myself maybe there is a possible chance school start times could change. Well I have a solution to help you and myself start the morning off with a lot more energy and no more yawning.
Waking up in the morning can be a real pain especially if you do not get the right amount of sleep you need. Teens need typically “9 ¼ “ hours of sleep but more than “⅔” of high schoolers say that they get less than 7. Most middle schools and high schools start school between the times of 7:30-7:45. Teens are very tired and do not want to go to school because of how early they have to wake up this has caused there to be many tardies to school. Mt school starts at 7:45 and I still think that we should push that start time back. A reasonable start time would be 8:30 and ending time would be around 3:50. This would cause teens to get much more sleep and not be as late to school.

Personally I do much more better when I am more awake and I can see this happening with many more students as well. This would also lessen the chances of car crashes in the morning some are caused by drowsy students driving themselves to school when they are still pretty much sleeping. I also tend to perform well when I have a lot of energy so this would help me improve in school and sports and it would also help the rest of my classmates as well. Many principals and school districts have noticed later school start times made students participate more and it also made them perform a lot
