In the first four chapters, we meet a boy named Miles who lives in florida. He doesn’t find his normal school life satisfying, so he decides to go to boarding school. Culver Creek boarding school is where is dad went when he was Miles’s age, his dad upheld the reputation of causing the most trouble and still acing all of his classes. When Miles and his parents show up on the first day, he has a hard time saying bye to his parents, but meets his new roommate. His roommate is a short guy but muscular, his name is chip, but he prefers to be called the Colonel, but no one knows why. Down the hall from Miles is a girl named Alaska, who is a fun person that always has stories to tell. Inside her room she has many books, which she calls her library. Throughout chapters 19-27, much happens. Everyone leaves for the break. The Colonel’s mom shows up in an old beat up van, a limousine picks up Laura, and Takumi takes the bus. Miles and Alaska sleep in the same bed together that night. In the morning, the Colonel asks them if they would like to go to his house for thanksgiving, so they they go. After they all eat the meal the Colonel’s mom makes then, Alaska and Miles return to the campus for the remainder of the break. When everyone comes back they all look forward to christmas break, which is right around the corner. Eventually everyone leaves for christmas break to go visit their families, even Alaska. When everyone comes back from the time with their family, they are all happy. Someone in the group mentions planning out a pre-prank to have on the Weekday Warriors. Everyone tells the Eagle that they are going out of town to separate places so that when the prank is executed, they won 't be suspects.
