Comparative Critique In both of these articles, the authors address frequent problems that come about in marriage. In the article “My Problem with Her Anger” Eric Bartels describes what it is like to be in a marriage that is not on the best terms. He focuses on some common problems that will occur in a marriage. On the other hand, Aviva Patz emphasizes the statistics that often go wrong in modern marriages. Patz’s article “Will Your Marriage Last?” approaches similar points that Bartels makes however it is in a different perspective. In the first article Bartels describes some problems he runs into with his spouse. He approaches the situations very positive but he explains how the arguments would never go his way. Throughout the article Bartels explains various occasions on how he would try his best but however his wife would just get angry at him and claim that he doesn’t do a good job or a try hard enough. Bartels states that he respects his spouse and her job so he takes care of the kids when she cannot. In the second article, “Will Your Marriage Last?” Patz looks at marriage at a different perspective. Patz backs up her claims by giving the reader statistics about marriage.
