1. Current Assessment of Physical Activity- YOURSELF: I currently have no distinguished activity plan, but I do generally get a fair amount of exercise per week. I do not play organised sport, but I attempt to make up for it by going for a day long bike ride on the weekend for 2 to 7 hours. FRIENDS: My close friends are very good when it comes to organised physical activity. Majority of my close friends do organised sport out of school whether it be Australian Rules Football of Soccer. Some work as football umpires or linesmen for soccer games. PEERS / HPE CLASS: Most people in my Health and Physical Education class do some form of organised sport, which is a positive thing when it comes to a physical activity plan. However, people do not show a lot of enthusiasm when it comes to participating in school PE. YEAR 10 YEAR LEVEL: …show more content…
Goals for the Plan The plan will involve increasing the amount of physical activity for years 11 to 12. HPE is a compulsory subject for students in years 8 to 10 in which they will complete at least 1 double lesson of HPE practical per week and 1 single of HPE theory, so therefore nothing will be done to further improve people in years 8 to 10. The plan will make it compulsory for year 11 to 12 students to complete 1 double lesson per week, which will make up a section of a students free lessons. The HPE plan is strictly catered to individual students as it is important not to take up a students important work time in other subjects. The reason this plan is to be implemented is due to the lack of physical education being done by year 11 to 12 students. It is very important that students get a basic amount of physical activity per week. 5. Raising Awareness The plan will be promoted to students through flyers pinned up around the school, emails and letters home. It is important for parents to be “ok” with a new plan as it is currently stand alone to the Australian curriculum, so letters will be sent out to every year 11-12
