How would you feel if you lived in a country at war and you constantly had to be hiding from ungenerous soldiers to survive? Syrians go through this nearly every day. Syrians get brutally shot because they are living in a fatal war zone while trying to stay safe and raise their children. Syrian refugees who want improved lives for their families and live in an unwanted war zone deserve better lives like any human being does.
After reading the book "Diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank, I noticed how living during war made them feel anxious. The text stated, "“Now we 're done for,” I said, and I had visions of all fifteen of us being dragged away from the Gestapo that very night. More rattling at the bookcase, twice." They want to come to America to have freedom and protection. A quote from the article A home lost, a home found: Some Syrian refugees find way to Chicago stated, "So began their four-year flight to flee Syria 's brutal civil war and find safety in Chicago. Their story of bombings, killings and refugee camps in just one of thousands coming out of the crisis in Syria, the Middle East and Europe." This quote shows how the Syrian refugees just want to get away from the killings in the war and they want to get safe. If we have safety here and they need help, why wouldn 't we help them? In the article by Associated Press there is a quote that states, "“When we sent Jews back to Germany and when we sent Japanese to internment camps, we regretted it and we will regret this as well,” said Democratic Representative Luis Gutierrez of Illinois.”" This shows that we have turned down refugees before and we regretted it, so we shouldn 't make history repeat itself, and we need to bring them to our country away from war so they can feel safe once
