I have been working in Assisted Living Communities for about fifteen years. I have had the pleasure of performing many different tasks for the residents. My early work experience influenced me to continue to work in the health care field, where I am able to help provide good quality care for many residents. I chose to go back to school to obtain a degree, to further my career. My current everyday work life will continue to influence my academic work and goals while attending Colorado Christian University.

I would find time to speak with some of the residents and that is when I knew I belonged there. I enjoyed speaking with them and hearing about their lives, families and concerns. I grew attached to them and wanted nothing more than to help them. I quickly advanced positions, and was able to get more involved with the residents and their care. I wanted to know everything about the Assisted Living world from a business perspective, so I could learn ways to improve the resident’s home.
After I graduated from high school I obtained a certificate to be able to administer medications, shortly after that I was promoted to a manager. I began to attend more trainings around regulations and the business side of things, I had and still do, have a hunger to learn as much as
I could. The more I began to learn and obtain certificates related to my job, the more promotions I received. By the time I was twenty I completed the Administrators training course,

and was able to become an Administrator of my first community, I was the youngest
Administrator.
My first employer invested so much in me, they promoted me and provided training opportunities to help me grow and I am so fortunate to have had such an amazing
