With this letter, I would like to submit my application for the Director-Geography Program in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). I am a trained geographer with research and teaching background in both human and physical geography. Currently, I am working as an associate professor and the coordinator for the geography and geospatial concentration in the department of geosciences at Mississippi State University. I believe with my educational background and experience I will be an excellent candidate for the position of the Director and I can help rebuild Geography at UNL and provide strategic leadership and vision to promote excellence in research, education, and outreach; and a strong foundation for developing the department as an center of excellence in geographic education and research in the university and nationally. Within the Department of Geosciences, I am the team leader of Geography and Geospatial Sciences. In this capacity, I prepare teaching schedules, manage the instruction of World Regional Geography (GR 1123), and make teaching assignments for geography and geospatial graduate teaching assistants (GTAs).
