Looking for Alaska Review

I found looking for Alaska by John Green a funny, exciting, sad but beautiful read. Looking for Alaska made me think about any decisions that maybe right or wrong, and how there are always consequences not always to yourself when you don’t make sensible decisions.

Miles Hatter starts his first year at Culver Creek High school. Miles is a 16-year-old geeky nerd who doesn’t have any friends. Miles roommate is Chip (Colonel) he is very passionate in what he thinks and says, Chip is also a born leader.

Colonel nicknamed Miles; Pudge –as he is so skinny and scrawny. Colonel introduces Pudge to Alaska, She is a bubbly bossy selfish girl on the outside but this is all just a front, really Alaska is an unhappy lonely …show more content…

After calling her boyfriend (Jake) Alaska gets upset and begs the colonel and Pudge to distract the eagle (principal) so she can leave in her car.

The very next day the eagle called an emergency meeting in the gym to tell the students that something tragic had happened to Alaska.

This book was so intense it had my full attention all the way through.

This book is like a jigsaw puzzle that slowly all fits together. I don’t think I’ve ever loved a book so much and after reading it I can’t wait for it to come out into the cinema, in 2016, so I can compare the book to the movie and see which I think is better.

I can honestly say this is my favourite book so far that I have read, I’ve recommended it to everyone I know even if they aren’t readers because it is such an easy and good read I’m not much of a reader, but I was encouraged to read this book and having read the book it has made me want to read more and more.

I think this book betrays teenagers is a very realistic way i.e. there’s quite a lot of sex, kissing, drinking and smoking.
