Compare and contrast US racing vs European racing Racing, such a highly competitive sport that people think so highly of can be quite deceiving on how it all came about. Drivers pushing their cars further and further, with the motors screaming around the track hoping they can catch the next guy. The adrenaline pumping though the driver’s veins, and the unbelievable concentration it takes to handle such a powerful car. It’s no wonder that people love to watch this multi-million dollar company. From the US is NASCAR, and from across the ocean is Formula 1. These are two very different types of cars and there rules and regulations but in some ways very similar with the urge to beat the next guy. Drafting in these races is a huge advantage. Drafting is when they follow behind each other really closely to help improve aerodynamics. That way they don’t have to push through all that air and they can wait for the right time to pass the person in front of them. If you ever watch a race for a little bit you will see that they all follow each other, and if one person gets out of the pack that person looks like there slowing down, but there just out of the aerodynamics “wind tunnel”. As they take those corners they are taking those at roughly 2 G’s, which is certainly much more then what your typical Toyota carola can take on a corner. If they do ever need to fill up for gas or get new tires they have to take a pit stop, which on average takes 11 sec from start to stop. This is quite a long time if your competitor doesn’t have to take a pit stop, and they’re traveling at 200 miles per …show more content…
Although there are only 50 drivers that are racing all around the us that still is a full race track. And with 36 race tracks there is time for anything to happen and makes it so that people all around the US can take a trip to go see the race in real life. Because of that there largest attended audience was 182,000 people. that sounds like a lot of beer drinking and getting dizzy watching 50 cars go around in a circle. It sounds bad but when I was a kid and watched these races I lived for the crashes. If the race didn’t have a crash I considered it a big waist of time. which is a bad way to look at it because those are real people driving those cars. This is a competitive sport that only 50 drivers in the US drive in. The number one paid driver is Dale Earnhardt Jr. with a whopping 28 million in a season. Not too far behind him is Jeff Gordon at 24 million. This seems to be pretty high for me especially since they only take left turns. Not to mention the budget that the top 20 get is about 6.5 million. Each car seemed to cost a roughly 1.5 million. Formula 1(how it
