Hello, I am applying for the Community Youth Worker position. I was extremely pleased to find this position open on your website as I have been hoping to continue working for this type organization. I believe the work done by the Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre does an immense amount of good for the community, and I have experienced this first hand. I worked in the position of Community Youth Outreach Assistant at Foster Farm family house throughout the summer of 2016, and I would love to continue in this type of organization, and feel as though this position would be an amazing opportunity to continue to help others. In all of my experiences working with children and youth I have learned that I have a passion for helping others. I enjoy helping children and families, and I would like to make a career out of this passion at the Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre. My work as a teaching assistant gave me many skills that I feel would be useful in this position. As a teaching assistant, I learned how to work well with others, I also learned how to listen and assist my superior to the best of my ability. Furthermore, being a teaching assistant helped me develop my decision making skills, as a large amount of the work I was doing was separate from my superior, and I therefore had to work independently, whilst also following orders and assisting my superior. I consider myself a very hard worker, and this can be shown through my extensive experience working with children and adolescents, as well as my educational career.
