The book that I read was Anne of Green Gables. Anne of Green Gables is about a young girl named Anne Shirley. Anne is a talkative, happy, and dramatic young girl despite being orphaned and living an impoverished life. Anne gets adopted by a man named Matthew Cuthbert. Matthew lives with his sister Marilla Cuthbert. Matthew and Marilla live in Avonlea, which is on Prince Edward Island. Matthew, who is usually the quiet and reserved man, goes out to get their newly adopted child. When Mrs. Rachel Lynde observes that he leaves without just cause, she takes it upon herself to find out why he left. She decided to go and visit Marilla because surely she knows why he left. Diana and Anne immediately clicked and they soon became bosom friends also known as best friends.
