When hearing the word genius, no other name than Mozart comes to mind. To me, Mozart’s music reaches a rank of achievement unrivaled by any other composer. One example to highlight this is how most composers transcends in a certain aspect of music. For instance, Bach is able to excel in the aspect of harmony and complexity. Handel, is able to shine in the aspect of melody and texture. And Beethoven is associated with his high techniques and expression. Mozart rules in all of these aspects and more. He had the harmonic intricacy, the melodic elegance, the artistic techniques, and the emotional side to it all. Furthermore, he was the best in every music style there was back in the day. From his concertos, symphonies, sonatas, and operas, it seems there was nothing that he could not accomplished. After analyzing other great composers like Bach, Handel, and Beethoven that intrigue me, Mozart simply baffles me. With composers such as Bach, Handel, and Beethoven, one can the mind process use in creating such dedicate pieces. The mind process they use is forming out their music reasonably and systematically. For example, the irregular melodies and unexpected intervals in a Bach fugue implies that his melodies are harmonically created. Interchangeably, the clear and well balanced harmonies of Handel indicate that his harmonies are melodically created. One can also see a reasonable structure in Beethoven’s music. In Beethoven’s music, a brief theme is shown in where it is used as a starting point for the rest of the selection. Of course, this is an understatement, but the overall principle of great composers is to work out their music reasonably and systematically.
