Slide 1:
Howie Roseman is the Executive Vice President of the Philadelphia Eagles. He has worked for the Eagles his entire career in the NFL. Roseman is one of the youngest Executives in the NFL. Even though his title for the team used to be General Manager, Roseman’s job duties are still very similar to the title he held with the Eagles from 2010 to 2014.
Slide 2:
Roseman’s success has skyrocketed the past couple years since he was named Executive Vice President. In 2017 he was named Executive of the year by the PFWA. During this same year, the Philadelphia Eagles finally won the Super Bowl under his management and do so with many key injuries plaguing them the entire year.

Though he was born in Brooklyn, Roseman grew up in New Jersey where he was a big Jets fan. Roseman grew up in Marlboro Township and even attended the local high school there. From a very young age, he knew he wanted to work for the NFL. It was a big dream, especially coming from a Jewish family that was not into sports at all.

Slide 5:
College is where Roseman’s dream of working for the NFL began to flourish. He achieved his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and later decided to attend law school at Fordham University in New York City. He chose this school because he could gain a concentration in negotiation and salary-cap. During these years Roseman became very persistent in trying to gain a contact in the NFL, that way he can get his foot in the door.

Roseman was originally hired by the Eagles as an intern. His job as an intern was to help work on the salary cap. This was 2000 and the salary cap was still in its beginning stages in the NFL. In 2003 he became the Director of Football Administration for the team. In 2006 he was promoted again but this time as VP of football administration. Tannenbaum was thinking about hiring Roseman directly out of school. Roseman was one of a few candidates left in consideration for an entry-level job. Roseman did not end up getting this job offer but Tannenbaum did put in a good word for him for the job that he eventually did get with the Eagles.

Joe Banner is the man that gave Roseman a shot. Tannenbaum called Banner and put in the good word for Roseman. Originally hired as an unpaid intern, Banner saw potential in Roseman and saw the passion the NFL loves to see. Roseman wanted to be involved in personnel and Banner gave him that chance where he let Roseman negotiate player contracts at the age of 24. Banner even let him develop as a scout that way he could better identify talent.
Slide 13:
In 2011, Roseman helped develop what was deemed “The Dream Team” due to the high profile free agents and big money that was spent on them that summer. Roseman regrets this decision and wishes he went another way with the team. This was Roseman’s first offseason as the GM at the time and it left a bad taste in many of the fans mouths.
