As the story progresses, Huck's views change drastically. Scattered instances of childish, irresponsible actions still occur, but they are accompanied periods of reflection. An example of this is when he tricks Jim into believing he was dreaming about the fog. Jim has feelings too. Jim has helped Huck grow but there are other characters which were a push to his maturing. The Duke and King have also been able to change yucks mindset. Through the their bad actions and their deceiving of people he realizes that theyre lifestyle is not for him. He doesn't want to be a thief or a con man. He doesn't want to hurt other people. He saw the duke and the King trying to scam the Wilkes girls and morals kicked in and he learned to be a bit selfless.
