In the book Night, there were three father son relationships. Eliezer and Chlomo, Rabbi Eliahou and his son, and Meir and his father. We know the most about Eliezer and Chlomo, because we have been following them since the beginning of the story, and the other two have just recently been introduced. They are all noticeably different, but also show some similarities. Eliezer and Chlomo and Rabbi Eliahou and his son share some similarities.
Huck starts to seriously consider turning Jim in. While he does not believe in slavery, he is deeply disturbed by the idea of Jim stealing his children away from their owner. Despite the paternal bond between Jim and his children, Huck does not believe he should have the right to them, since they are owned by someone else. Huck literally states that he thinks lower of Jim for this, saying, “I was sorry to hear Jim say that, it was such a lowering of him,” (Twain). This is ironic, since Huck’s father was given rights to him purely based on blood but he believes Jim should not be allowed custody of his children based purely off of his social standing.
In the song “Message Man” by Twenty One Pilots, the lyrics say, “Please use discretion When you're messing with the message man. These lyrics aren't for everyone. Only few understand.” Similar to the chart-topping musical duo’s profound lyrics, Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is misunderstood in a similar way.
In the book of The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn you see a lot of scamming and betraying. People who thought they were cool weren’t really. For example when Huck pulls the white fog trick on Jim. Jim was hurt because he didn’t think Huck would do something like that. So there is a lot of interesting betraying in the book.
Tom grows from a spoiled kid to a dishonest and lazy adult. Tom's greedy education is the reason why he is flawed. From a young age he got everything that he wanted and a sense of power is born within him. When he becomes an adult the idea of working or making an honest living seems below him. Instead, he feels he has the right to just to take whatever he wants.
In Mark Twain’s novel, The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn, he utilized diction to illustrate the change in Huck’s view on slavery and more specifically, Jim; from believing that all slaves are subhuman and ignorant to befriending and respecting Jim as his equal. Incidentally, one way that Twain used diction to highlight such change in Huck was in his choice and usage of the word “n*****”. Considering this, in Chapter 16, Huck habitually uses the n-word to refer to Jim rather than calling him by his name. Huck also utilizes phrases such as , “Give a n***** an inch
This quote introduces Junior into the book as afraid and lonely. It shows that some people are hesitant of the outside world because of how badly people can treat others. This statement allowed me to learn about Junior’s interests and feelings about life. The information provided in this quote suggests to me that throughout the book Junior will be timid of people. When the author uses the term “outside”, it can indicate that Junior will have to experience different places throughout his story.

Huck Finn is a novel that tells about the adventures of a young teenager, Huck, alongside a runaway slave, Jim. The novel tells about their ups and downs and their times of freedom and their time of slavery and bondage.
Huckleberry Finn Character Analysis “Alright then I’ll go to hell” (Twain, 215). This quote represents the most searing moment of the book, it's the moral climax of the novel. At that exact moment is when Huck decides to help free Jim and completely disregards what society says. Huck Finn is a very complex character which is what made him an excellent choice as the narrator for the novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
Understatement is used by both authors to make the readers feel an emotion. In the novel by Mark Twain, after encountering Tom's aunt, Miss Sally, Huck explains how the cylinder head exploded and states that, “No’m. Killed a nigger.” (221) Although Huck unexpectedly helped Jim with his escape at the beginning of the novel which lead the readers to believe he’s different from the southern society, he continues to treat black people as though they are nothing.
Ch 13 “I judged she would be proud of me for helping these rapscallions, because rapscallions and dead beats is the kind the widow and good people take the most interest in” (pg 53) Ch 13 Although Huck has left his home, he still follows her rules, and keeps her ideals close, as shown in the quote. Huck sees people like the widow as fixers.
To some the “N” word gets in the way of the story’s powerful message against slavery. To others, Twains simply capturing the way people use to talk back then. I for one, think that schools should keep the book with the “N” word. For this reason, to stay true to Twain’s words is this. We’ve been reading “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” and “Tom Sawyer” for a long period of time and it hasn’t stopped us from passing political rights, law giving, ending discrimination in public schools, passing the Voting Rights Act, engaging in multicultural relations, or electing nonwhite governmental administrators, including our current president.
In this selected passage Huck decides he is not going to send the letter he wrote to Miss Watson with the intention of turning Jim in. Huck initially writes the letter because he is thinking about God and his state of sin, as he believes he is committing a sin by stealing another person’s property. He never sends the letter because he realized how much he trusts Jim and doesn’t see him as his property, but rather as a best friend. Previously he has stayed with Jim because it was easy, but this scene marks the time when he is able to stay by Jim’s side even when he believes it will come at a great personal cost.
Imagine others looking down to you as dirt, locking you up and forcing strenuous work upon you against your will. Imagining having to complete this work day after day without argument for the other option is usually beatings or even worse, death. Imagine coming to grips with knowing you will never see your family ever again. These are all disturbing and uncomfortable situations to even think of being placed in.
